pt 2 of the series. This week we’re looking at a portion of 2 Thessalonians that does not have a parallel in 1 Thessalonians. Apparently, the church suffered some severe affliction (flipsis). Paul’s response to the situation is to praise God for choosing the Thessalonian Christians. Everyone wants to focus on the judgment stuff in this text, but that’s not really Paul’s point.
