GIVE ONLINE

January 13, 2008 By Erik DiVietro 2 Comments

Just a brief note. I generally use www.foxnews.com as my primary online news source, but recently I have gotten really frustrated with their obsession with the macabre. Let me just give a brief sampling of the headlines I have seen this week:

  • Dad Sodomized Teen Stepson to Avenge Rape of Daughter
  • Pennsylvania Man Avoids Criminal Charge for Paying Ticket with Obscene Check
  • New York woman Allegedly Put Son, 7, in Oven as Punishment
  • Second Body Recovered in Search for Four Children Thrown Off Alabama Bridge
  • Web Site Offers Porn for the Deaf
  • Travelers Arrested for Sex Acts on Commercial Flight

Let me ask you something? Do these really deserve national coverage?

I wonder how well a news source would do if they reported ONLY positive news–stories that inspire, encourage and help people to dream. How cool would that be? Erik, you up to it?? I’ll be your first subscriber! 🙂

The problem is that most of these news sites get direct feeds from the Associated Press.
