Really? The Most Ludicrous Thing I've Read Recently.

June 9, 2012 By Erik DiVietro 2 Comments

The internet is a place where you can find just about anything you want. If you’re looking for someone to write an article advocating something ridiculous, you are sure to find it; but usually you will find it somewhere obscure. Unless you’re reading Huffington Post and you want an absolutely ludicrous view on marriage. Then… Read More »

King of Hopelessness, pt 9 (2:18-23)

April 26, 2012 By Erik DiVietro Leave a Comment

When Ruth returns from the fields with an ephah of barley, Naomi is surprised. And why wouldn’t she be surprised? Ruth gleaned the equivalent of a day’s work for someone who was supposed to be harvesting in the field. It is clear that someone noticed her and provided for her.

Concluding Thoughts on REAL MARRIAGE

March 15, 2012 By Erik DiVietro Leave a Comment

I have been remiss in my task of reviewing Mark and Grace Driscoll’s book Real Marriage. I apologize for not getting the sections of the review out, but I have had a lot going on lately. Last night, I finished up reading the book and I think I am missing something. Everyone was talking about… Read More »

Real Marriage: Part 3 – Men and Marriage

February 8, 2012 By Erik DiVietro 2 Comments

You know, for a book on “biblical marriage” there isn’t a lot of Biblical exegesis in here. The Driscolls do eventually get to the Scriptures when talking about marriage as a covenant instead of as a contract, and I thought that section of this chapter was decent. Only three chapters in and it is fairly… Read More »

May 10, 2011 By Erik DiVietro 1 Comment

The quest for cool is an endless one. Personally, I think coolness is defined by factors that have no bearing on effectiveness or reality. Consider for a moment how we now listen to television, film and music celebrities on matter to which they have no right to speak. Just because someone is a popular person,… Read More »
