GREED – The love of personal gain which results in violence, deceitfulness, manipulation and other sin toward others

Read 1 Corinthians 9:1-12

All this talk about greed might lead you to an extreme reaction. Jesus is not opposed to us making a living or even being prosperous. We plant; we expect a harvest. Keep a balance, remembering that God wants you to prosper and be blessed; but we are also called to give the overflow to others.

Jesus, give me a sense of balance in financial things. Help me to be a good steward, to provide for my family, to invest in the ministry of your Good News and to help others. Help me to ask you for wisdom and to do what you say.
