GREED – The love of personal gain which results in violence, deceitfulness, manipulation and other sin toward others
Read Acts 5:1-11
You know that greed has crept into your mind when you find yourself holding back unconsciously. Ananias and Sapphira brought only a part of what they made; but they had sold their land to help the church. Their sin was not how much they gave but how they did it. They withheld something that they had already promised to God. Greed makes us God-robbers.
God, I don’t want to rob you – consciously or unconsciously. Greed digs me into a hole and then I use greed to try to get out. Save me from my own justifications and free me to give all I am supposed to.
