GREED – The love of personal gain which results in violence, deceitfulness, manipulation and other sin toward others

Read Titus 1:7-9

Why is greed listed with violence and drunkenness? These are easily identified sins, but greed is so hard to nail down. When does it cease to be growth and become greed?

Greed is not about how much you have but about how much you desire. Greed is not about money. It is about the hole that exists in your soul that you are trying to fill. It is to money what lust is to sex and gluttony is to food.

Jesus, you were not controlled by your body’s longings for more. You were consumed by your Father’s mission. Help me not to be about getting so I can have but getting so I can give.
