GLUTTONY – literally “to gulp down” or “to swallow.” To withhold from others in need so you may be over filled.

Read Luke 21:29-36

Jesus warns us not to be weighed down with consuming. Instead, he calls to stay awake at all times. Have you ever notice that indulgence makes us less aware, less awake? Our responses become slightly delayed at first, but then without knowing it, we become lethargic. We slowly go through physical and spiritual atrophy.

Jesus, make me spiritually lean and hungry. Give me the passion for seeing your vision and pursuing it because I want to and not because I am obligated. Give me the energy, the intensity and the desire – make me willing to give up everything to see your vision fulfilled.
