November 7–December 12,2021
According to DHHS, the homeless population is under 2,000, but these statistics are old and incomplete. There are large homeless communities in Manchester and Nashua - people of all ages who will spend this winter exposed to the harsh weather that this region experiences. We have a longstanding commitment to the Southern NH Rescue Mission where we prepare a monthly meal for the residents.
This year, we are conducting a winter gear drive, in cooperation with Do You Know Him? Ministries, a local ministry focused on meeting the physical and spiritual needs of the homeless in Manchester. On any given weekend, along with supplying clothes and other essentials, DYKH? delivers over 200 meals to homeless camps and different locations throughout Manchester. DYKH? also delivers a message of hope by sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ with any and all they come in contact with. It truly is heartbreaking to see young women, veterans and sometimes families fighting for survival by any means possible. With your help we can bring some relief, no matter how small, to these people and let them know they are not forgotten.
What Kinds of Things Do We Need?
Donated items should be new or gently used. If used, please make sure you wash and dry them before bringing them in. Also, it is recommended that items be bagged. You can drop them in the large cardboard box in the foyer or the church building.
- Sleeping bags (0º or four season)
- 2-4 Man Tents
- Coats, gently used or new
- Hats and Gloves
- Long Johns (tops and bottoms)
- Winter socks
The items will be collected at the church facility and then delivered to DYKH? after December 12. If you have a question about an item, contact Mike Trask or use the contact form to reach out.
DISCLAIMER: Bedford Road Baptist Church is collecting materials to assist local ministries in an effort to bless others. We do not facilitate or administrate these ministries. They are independent of our congregation. Any donations are made in good faith to these ministries.
