The Outreach ministry has continued to serve at the Southern New Hampshire Rescue Mission in Nashua and has grown in the past year. The SNHRM shares the gospel with its clients by nurturing their bodies with food and their spirits with the Word of God directly. We serve between 40 and 50 breakfast plates and provide a 5-10 minute Christian message on the first Saturday of each month at a cost of about $75/mo. The meals are open to the public as well as the 15ish men who live at the shelter and are participating in a twelve month program. We would love to have you join us even for just one Saturday. Contact Eric Wittenberg for details.
This year, our church volunteer participation has steadily increased to about 9 regulars and we were in the process of expanding to fill another day when the COVID19 pandemic hit.
At-risk individuals have been asked to refrain from serving during this time, and because that impacted such a large portion of our group, our direct serving ministry there is on hold, though we are still providing the much needed unprepared food.
In response to COVID19, we set up a phone contact program to help maintain personal connection with our church members and to provide a direct line of support and service to anyone who has a need. About 15 people responded and the feedback is bearing witness that the Holy Spirit is at work drawing us closer to God and one another. People have been willing to share their challenges with one another and pray together, over the phone, in uncommon ways.
If you have a need or if you’re finding it extra difficult to manage any of life’s responsibilities during these times, please do not hesitate to contact an elder or simply pass the information on to the people who’ve been calling you. We have an abundance of people ready to help.
