Gregory Duane Hogan Jones, 68, passed into the presence of the Lord on December 16, 2020 at his home in Hooksett, NH.
He was born on August 21, 1952 in Washington, D.C., the son of Willis McKinley Jones Sr. and Veronica Isilda Hogan Jones. He was the husband of Loretta (Lee) Jones. They were married on December 27, 1975 in Manchester, NH.
After graduating from Manchester Memorial High School in June 1970, he attended the United States Air Force Academy from 1970 to 1972. He later earned a Bachelor of Science degree from New Hampshire College in 1985 before enlisting in the United States Army, where he served on active duty until 1989. He went on to attend the University of Virginia School of Law and graduated in 1992 before returning to New Hampshire, where he practiced law for 20 years. In 2012, he left his law practice behind to seek the fulfillment of being paid to travel the open roads as a truck driver.
Greg enjoyed hiking the White Mountains, hunting, and traveling. He was an accomplished musician and a talented songwriter. He loved all types of music but had a particular affinity for The Beatles. His true passions, however, were God and family. He was a faithful member of Bedford Road Baptist Church in Merrimack, NH, where he served as an elder and helped to lead the music and children's ministries. His selflessness and commitment were most evidenced in the unending devotion he showed to his wife, siblings, children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
Greg was predeceased by both of his parents, three brothers (Hayden Jones, Ronald Jones, and Willis Jones Jr.), and his nephew (Jerramy Jones).
He is survived by his wife, his children (Micah and Breyanna), a daughter-in-law (Val Jones), a son-in-law (Ryan Desmarais), three grandchildren (Jordin, Grant, and Alethia), two brothers (Kevin Jones and Paul Jones), a sister (Monica Jones), and many nieces and nephews.
Due to current travel restrictions, services will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.

May you continue to rest in HIS peace because of His love for you. We sorrow BUT not as others who do not have the hope we have in Christ. We are assured that to be absent from this body is to be face to face with Christ our Lord and Savior.

What a beloved and sorely missed man of God. So appreciated making his acquaintance in the brief times I had visiting your church for the Michael Card conferences from 2013 to 2019(?). May his memory be eternal with the saints in the Light. God grant rest to the soul of your servant Greg. Much love to and prayers for his family and faith community.

Lori, we (Paula and I!) were there when you and Greg exchanged rings and vows forty five years ago. We enjoyed the times spent together when we lived in New England. Ly

Dear Lori & family, the sudden loss of your beloved Greg has weighed on my heart since Lucia told me the news. Greg always welcomed me with a smile and a “sincere “glad to see you again!” whenever I was in town and would attend Bedford Road Baptist Church. He had a warmth about him that I appreciated. I’m praying for you as you mourn.

From my family to yours I extend our deepest sympathy and prayers. Greg was not only a colleague of mine, but had grown rapidly to being a great friend. His captivating smile was inspiring, and would make a trying day bright. God must have needed a special person at his side to make this crazy world a better place for all. Until we meet again......

We did not get to know Greg very well, but we do know that he had thee joy and radiance that only comes from the Lord. He always made us feel welcome. Praying for God's peace that passes all understanding and comfort of His loving arms to embrace you and your children.
