In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace which He made to abound toward us in all wisdom and prudence, having made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His good pleasure which He purposed in Himself, that in the dispensation of the fullness of the times He might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven and which are on earth—in Him. [Ephesians 1:7-10]
True life is a mystery to us. We think this upside down world, with all its sin and pain, is the way things are supposed to be. But the reality that exists only in the mind of God is everything this world is not.
That reality is lived out in Jesus, and he invites us into his Kingdom where everything is made right. This is the ‘fulness of the times’ – it is the culmination of every moment of human existence since the THUD back in the Garden of Eden. It should be incredibly, dramatically and overtly exciting to us, but it isn’t all that exciting for most of us. Ever wonder why?
Help me, Jesus, to see you as my model of living in the Kingdom. Even when what you did and call me to do looks upside down, help me to remember that to my upside down priorities, the RIGHT things will always look upside down.
